Three Types
Three Types of People Starting from when the Israelites came on the scene.

Before I cover the three types, let us start where Israel came from. Israel genealogy starts with Abraham, through his son Isaac, Isaac is the father of Jacob.  When Jacob wrestle with the angel, the angel changes his name from Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.  It is through Israel(Jacob) twelve sons that form the thirteen tribes of Israel.  You are probably wondering why I am saying thirteen instead of twelve. EZE 47:13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.  In Numbers Chapter one, it names the twelve tribes.  The tribe of Ephraim and the tribe of Manessah were Joseph's two sons. Numbers 1:49 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel: 50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle. The Levites were not numbered among the twelve because the Levites were the mediators for the twelve tribes of Israel. The Levites was not allow to own any land. Numbers 18:20 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.  The Levites inheritance is Genesis 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. So the Levites were not counted among the twelve tribes, they were responsible for taking care of tabernacle and offering of sacrifices.  No one could go into the tabernacle unless he was a Levite. The Levites were the mediator for the twelve tribes of Israel and offering temporary remission of sins through animal blood.

The three types of people.  First type we find in Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.  A Israelite under the law was one who believe by faith, who had not received the promises but seen them afar off through prophecies. they were persuaded of them and embraced them. God set them aside when Moses led them out of Egypt and today are known as Jews.  During the last 2000 years, the Jews in general are under the Old Covenant not recognizing the New Covenant.

The Second type is Ephesian 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  The second type was gentiles who had no hope, no God and were not part of the covenants of Israel.

The third type is found in 1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also, is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. The third type is the body of Christ.  Once you become part of the body of Christ, you in a since lose your identity, no longer Jew or Gentile but a member of the Body of Christ.  So, when we study the Bible, we can keep in mind that the Old Testament and the four gospels was written to the Jews who were saved by faith, who had not received the promises but saw them afar off, who were persuaded by them and embraced them. Remember gentiles had no part of the Covenant promises, had no hope, were lost without God until the body of Christ. Acts is the transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant.  Romans till the end of the Bible was written to the Body of Christ. Granted Peter, John, James, Jude and the book of Hebrews was written to the Jews, but it is written to the Jews who are part of the body of Christ. So, remember the three types of people after the New Covenant was established and everything should start to fit into place.
