Old Covenant- Earthly Covenant

Genesis 12:
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. You see here that the Lord is speaking to Abram and is going to bring him to a land where his descendants will be a great nation.  Abram didn't know about the Kingdom of Heaven or of the Holy Spirit. His blessing were here on earth.  Genesis 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:  They did not know of the death  and resurrection because it didn't happen yet.  The Lord bless them here on earth and made a
earthly Covenant.  This also includes Isaac, Jacob, the Mosiac Covenant,  the Covenant that was make with King David, and the one made with King Solomon. As you read about each Covenant, it is here on earth and none of them knew of the Kingdom of Heaven or the death and resurrection even though some of them made prophecies concerning the death and resurrection.

Testament - Covenant
New Testament - Spiritual Covenant

John 15:
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  Jesus tells us that we are not of this world, This is not a earthly Covenant but a spiritual Covenant. Matthew 6:20 tells us to store our treasure in heaven not here on earth. Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words Here we have the comfort of the rapture and the second coming of Jesus Christ  which those in Old Covenant knew nothing about. 1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  We have hope of rapture and eternal life which those in the Old Testament knew nothing about.
